Raindance is a party organisation that sits at the very core of UK (and world) dance culture – they were of course the first people to hold a legal all-night dance event in the UK, paving the way for everything that has happened since. As they approach their first tour date in Luton at Club Home, I caught up with a lady who is intrinsically linked to the promotion – that one woman whirlwind who manages to wear the hats of promoter, dancer, PR machine and all round industry legend, Bonnie Parker, or as many of you on DSI will know her, Agent Bunnykins!
Morning! How are preparations going for this monster of an event?
Well as you can imagine, now we are just over a week to go to the event, things are beginning to gather speed. With Tickets flying out, backdrops to get ready, set times to write, and pushing the event on dsi and and answering any questions that may be asked about the event there doesn’t seem to be enough days in the week. But I know all the hard work is gonna pay off next week, as this event is gonna rock.

We obviously see you in London loads, both with the Raindance parties and dancing at pretty much every one of the Capital’s leading events and venues – you must be excited to be on new territory?
I love doing what I do in the scene, wither its dancing, promoting I love it. With my first Love being Raindance, I love going to new venues and areas where we get to show people how different Raindance is to any other event. Now it’s the time for Luton to see for themselves, what Raindance is really about.

Luton’s always had a great dance music underbelly – from the old days at Exodus through to the current wave of new cutting-edge and underground nights scattered around venues in the town – it must be good to come to somewhere that is undergoing something of a dance renaissance at the moment?
A lot of the resident djs at Raindance come from Luton, so not only do we have people being our eyes and ears for us, so when club home got in touch with Raindance about holding an event at the new refurbished venue. We jumped at the chance. As a raver, I love exploring new venues, and this venue is no different. Its lush.

I’ve played at Club Home in 2 of it’s previous guises and have just seen the place in it’s new incarnation – it’s an amazing venue with great sound and visuals, but what can we expect Raindance to do with the space? Will we be seeing the legendary Raindance venue transformation?
Well you will have to come and see for yourself, as you know, when Raindance does an event at any venue, we don’t do things by half. Just because It’s a different venue from our home venue SeOne, doesn’t mean we wont give it the Raindance treatment. So those of you that know, know what to expect, for those of you who don’t know….. come and get to know!!!

You’ve been a very busy girl over the last few years, running a dance troupe, working with Raindance and of course hammering DSI like there’s no tomorrow! Just how do you fit it in all day? Is there one thing that would make your daily life easier perhaps?
I love being busy, I am working in an industry that I have always wanted to work in. I have run dance troups before, but sadly had to give them up due to injury, but then once I got back into it I wouldn’t change Twisted Bliss for anything. I love being part of the team and I love all the Blissettes. Without them we wouldn’t be anywhere (thank you girls, love you all).
Now when it comes to Raindance, the event itself holds a very special place in my heart as back in 2000 it was the first event I went to (thanks Double G (love ya)XX), and now I am such a large part Raindance. I wouldn’t want it any other way. I love being busy. I love working as part of something so wonderful as Raindance and Twisted Bliss. I have to admit it does amaze me in how much I can fit in, in the space of 24 hours lol. I swear I live on dsi sometimes lol

With so many different arenas on the night, there’s going to be loads of different sounds, tons of DJ sets to catch – any one room you’re really looking forward to spending time in?
Well as everyone knows, I run the Magic Hardcore RaveAbout and the Mad Hatters Hard House Party, both of these are my babies, (thank you Raindance man for letting me do this xxx), these 2 rooms will be my priority. But as the Raindance regulars know, during any Raindance event, it’s a case of catch me if you can, as I am always running around all the arenas trying to make sure everyone and everything is ok, and running well.

Can we expect to see more Raindance events in Luton? I for one think it’s exactly what the town needs – a real focal point of quality music and great party vibes….
Well that all depends on the ravers, if they want us back, and help us create the best atmosphere that goes with an award winning event, like Raindance. Then we will be very happy to come back. So We are hoping that all the best ravers in Luton, come down on the 23rd and show club Home and all its staff what Luton ravers really have to offer. And hopefully then We will be able to bring you more Raindance madness and mayhem. But we need the ravers help….. So guys get your name down and get your tickets soon, and lets put Luton on the map once and for all!!!!
Raindance On Tour lands at Club Home in Luton on Friday the 23rd of May – it’s guaranteed to be a storming party covering the full spectrum of dance music – get yourselves down!
