A devilish event which nothing could stop....
After all the dramas and traumas of the weekend I have finally recovered and found the time and energy to say my own little piece regarding the Team Ajay/Diablotraxx Recording Free Party.

Well to echo everybody else’s sentiments............WOW!!!!.....................

I can truly say that when I received the phone call at 4.30pm on Saturday afternoon saying that our venue had fallen through my heart sank. All that hard work and preparation started to drift towards the drain.

Ever the determined bunch of people though we all failed to give in, and whilst Ajay, Rob OTT and Pauly went on the hunt searching for a new venue I paced the room frantically waiting for news.......and not too long did I have to wait when under 30 minutes later I received a call to say a new venue had been found!!!!!

So whilst the boys finalised the details I jumped onto the net and scrabbled to get the new venue location out to everyone (apologises now to anyone who might not of got the message as I did try to get onto all relevant threads I could find, and post messages via facebook, as well as replying to all the emails received for guestlist with new event location) as well as contacting the various DJs to advise them of the new situation and reorganise set times to suit the new venue.

So with that done I jumped in the car with Ben, our driver for the night, Conti from Bad Chemistry and Clint, a new found friend. Now 2 hours behind schedule myself, everything was left in the capable hands of Ajay, Pauly, Gary and Rob OTT to set up the new venue and race around trying to find equipment (the venue had none whatsoever). I myself wasn't even dressed and did not have my make up done. This resulted in me having to change in the car park of a service station whilst the boys had a pit stop, much to the amusement of a middle aged couple sitting in the car next to me, well I am not sure how amused the woman was to see me flashing my underwear about.

Eventually we arrived at the venue to find a good number of people were already there despite it only just having gone passed 8pm.

The boys had done an amazing job and a full system was up and running, including all the gear for the live PA later on in the night, lights, smoke machine and some incredible lasers!!!

I think it needs to be pointed out here that this was originally a 2 roomed event. The new venue only had one room available. All at Diablotraxx was kind enough to allow us guys from room 2 to share the room with them so Casa Elisa, Static and Funkylicious started doing our stuff from 8 until 12.

Both myself and Ajay are always very keen on nights where the music progresses throughout and now, with having just the one room with a number of music genres, never before was this so needed.

I would love to be able to sit here and comment on every single set but it would probably bore you and I could never do any of the guys justice, but I myself would like to point out a number of sets which, for me, stuck out. (However I will say that everybody who played made me feel proud and all glowy and warm inside. A real pleasure to hear them all).

Firstly Bad Chemistry made me incredibly proud to have them representing Casa Elisa. Conti closed the house and electro half of the night by getting down and dirty and made it easy for the crowd to transition between the 2 styles. Wicked tune dropped at the end which saw the crowd going off!!!

Secondly of course you have the premier of Diablotraxx Live PA. Ajay, Pauly and Rob OTT all did an awesome job and have heard nothing but raving reviews from everyone.

In summary the night was a 100% success.

To put on such an incredible event with the last minute hurdles that were thrown up is an astounding thing.

There was a comradery and friendship amongst everyone that is so often missing from events nowadays. Everybody there was determined to have a good time and to enjoy themselves and that is exactly what happened.

Much praise has to go to one of the best crowds I ever had pleasure of being part of. They danced and stomped their little feet off and made the night what it was. Each and every one of them made that little bit of more of an effort to get to the new venue and ..wow again… did they come. The number of people that turned up was amazing!!!

I have no doubt in my mind that Diablotraxx is a label that will go very far.

Personal thanks have to go to Conti, Ben and Clint for keeping me sane and calm, and for taking the shit I threw at them during the day. Also for amusing me greatly with their many antics to do with service station flowers, charity shop clothes (shhhhh….), fishy plop and telebubbies!!

As I've already said in a previous thread...

I wouldn't have been anywhere else in the who;e world than MK on Saturday night.
I did over 900 miles that w/e end and it was worth every single mile.

There was none of the pretensiousness you find at a lot of events these days and everyone just accepted each other and got on with enjoying themselves.

We (Stomp Management) made so many new friends and met so many new contacts it was all reminiscent to the oldskool days (as Ajay mentioned on the phone on Monday night).
Well done to each and every person involved and also to the people who attended for making the effort and showing a pure loyalty and complete support for these guys.

I personally can't wait for the next event and look forward to it with eager anticipation...

Well done to e...

Why thank you sir!!

Absolutely true on all fronts - I felt it was amazing how this awesome community of people who are friends first of all, DJs, promoters and clubbers second, all came together to make it go right off. The atmosphere was absolutely electric from start to finish. I'm sure that the awesome vibe from every single person there was what made us gel so well in the live PA - it came together amazingly like I had never imagined, at times it was like all 3 minds were linked telepathically as we brought in loops, beats, samples, scratches and riffs all at once, at points the PA was so intense it was unreal, all the stress of the day came out for me during that set!

HUGE thanks to every single one of you!!!
